Join friends, neighbors, Oaklands’ and Murfreesboro Little Theatre members alike for a BBQ dinner, libations, live music and performances on the grounds of historic Oaklands Mansion. You do not have to be a member to attend, but reservations are requested so there will be enough food and drink for all.
On Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 5:30PM- 9:00PM guests will enjoy a BBQ dinner on the lawn of historic Oaklands Mansion. Nestled in Oaklands Park, a native tree arboretum and wetlands, the mansion grounds also include Maney Spring, gardens and walking trails.
5:30PM – Murfreesboro Little Theatre Membership Meeting
6:00PM – Dinner is served and live music begins
6:30PM – Oaklands Membership Meeting
6:45PM – Awards Ceremony Begins (This will alternate with 2-4 awards and a song from the band)
7:30PM – Preview of “This House is Not a Home,” an original work by local playwright, Kyle Thomas.
8:00PM – Final awards and speeches from MLT
“Come hungry, come casual and enjoy an evening of outdoor entertainment, a delicious BBQ dinner and a full bar all on the grounds of historic Oaklands Mansion. If you aren’t already a member of both organizations, please consider joining today” says James Manning, Executive Director of Oaklands Mansion.
A donation of $25.00 per person is recommended for non-members. Donations will be accepted, both at the door and in advance online. Income from the membership meeting will help fund maintenance and preservation of Oaklands Mansion.
Make your reservations and come hungry, we will have enough food for everyone. Julie’s Bartending Service will provide an open bar. Don’t forget to bring your photo ID. Please bring your own chairs and blankets. Dogs are permitted, but must remain on a leash at all times.
