Nestled on our historic grounds, the Oaklands Cottage has been transformed into a quaint, inspiring space dedicated to community learning and creativity. Ideal for intimate gatherings, this cozy venue hosts specialized workshops and hands-on classes for 10 to 12 participants. We are thrilled to announce that, thanks to a generous grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission, our upcoming season will feature an exclusive Table Braiding Workshop!

We will review simple, easy to learn principles for seaming that will ensure success in your projects!

Whether you own a general purpose machine, serger or an embroidery machine, getting to know your sewing machine is a great way to create with confidence!

The workshop follows a 3-hour narrative flow (Earth, Fire, Air, Water, and Ether) designed to transform raw material into a personal piece of art.
Participants will experiment with the torch to create their own glass pieces, culminating the process by integrating the participants creations onto a pre-crafted glass candle holder.
Fee includes all professional materials, equipment, personalized instruction, and an hors d’oeuvres with coffee & tea integration break.
