Visit Oaklands Mansion now through October 31, 2023 and experience the macabre traditions surrounding death in Murfreesboro in the nineteenth century. The lights will be low. The mirrors draped in black. Coffins sit quietly in the parlors awaiting grieving mourners. You can almost hear a funeral dirge played faintly in the distance.
